New ASDA rip off

I love ASDA create your own pizza; usually the thin and crispy 14". Went to buy one Wednesday and was told that the Cheese Topping now counts as one of your 4 toppings!!
It costs £1 for 2 additional toppings, so this is in fact a hidden 50p price hike. They cost £3.50 so that is a 14.29% increase, but it does not stop there, because earlier this year they went from £3.20 to £3.50 so in effect losing 1 topping, or making you pay for an additional one, this year sees a true increase of 25%. How can ASDA justify such an overall increase?

Make your own pizza, they do kits (basically a flour mix) that cost about 54p (makes 2 10"ish pizzas) And buy there cheap mozarella and a few extras you like, normally cost about £1 per pizza and they are well nice.
If you feel the price rise isnt justified try emailing asda customer services to see their response. I doubt they will lower the price though, sorry!0 -
You could add your own toppings at home, we tend to buy cheap plain cheese and tomato and add tuna/onions/mushrooms/peppers etc etc. Whatever we have in.0

In our asda (gorseinon) they have a small shleving unit where they place all of the discontinued lines, last week they had the free from pizza bases at 10P i was assured this is nationwide and not just local maybe worth stocking up and putting them in the freezer then you really can have guilt free pizzas0

IMHO there are plenty of more deserving cases of the title 'Rip Off'
But that doesn't make this one any less of a rip off.0 -
Why do so many people believe that a price rise over the rate of inflation is a "rip-off" ? Supermarkets can charge what they want , it is up to you as to whether you buy from them or not.0

So you think this is a reasonable price rise?0

I am asking why any price rise above the rate of inflation is considered to be a "rip-off" . A rip-off to me is something that is done slyly or hidden. Price rises are not "rip-offs" , you have the choice of whether to pay or not..Supermarket has the right to charge whatever they want.0

That doesn't make it a rip off, there are cheaper options open to you to make a pizza. Definitions of rip off :
1. A product or service that is overpriced or of poor quality.
2. Something, such as a film or story, that is clearly imitative of or based on something else.
3. A theft.
4. An act of exploitation.
Its a price hike yes and 1 your informed of.0 -
The other below cost offers have to be paid for somehow. This week it is make your own pizza which has been increased, next week it might be mango chutney.0

If you make your own pizzas, its a good way of getting rid of leftovers in the fridge. If you have 3 slices of ham, 2 tomatoes and a small pepper from a bag of basic peppers - that is all you need to put on the topping, bar the cheese and tomato base. I use tomato ketchup or relish, depending on what is in the fridge.0
