Cancelled item still showing on statement?

OK, so I wasn't quite sure where to post this, but I have a wee problem with my catalogue company.

Earlier this year I placed an order for a new laptop as my current one was broken. However, soon after, my mate said it could be fixed for a small price as it was just the inverter that needed replacing, and that I could do this myself.

As a result, I e-mailed the catalogue company informing them I would like to cancel the order I had recently made as it was no longer needed.

Soon after a gentleman arrived at my door, it was the courier with the item. I said to him I tried to cancel this order and that I didn't want it. He said "not a problem, just sign to say you have refused delivery". Not hearing back from them, I assumed that was that.

Anyway, I am one of the few customers who was still currently experiencing problems with my bank account due to the recent problem with the banks. This lead to one of my monthly payments arriving after the requested date. Therefore, I logged onto my account to see what the late payment fee would be and for some contact details. To my suprise the laptop is still showing on my account 5 months later.

I've e-mailed the company and I'm waiting for a response. Not had much luck calling them, plus I like to keep a record of all my communication with them.

I guessing it maybe an error in the system or something, but I'm worried that I am going to have problems as I've only just noticed it when it was roughtly 5-6 months ago.

Anyone had a similar problem, or can anyone offer any advice should the my response be negative?

Thanks
