Good afternoon redruby and all,
i woke up this morning with the desire to message everyone that i love and tell them that i love them (i found out another of my school friends died yesterday and theres nothing like a death to put things into prospective). I did get replies to my messages but the one from my daughter made me smile'.
'Mum are you drunk? but i love you too'. I guess i dont tell her often enough.
I'm looking forward to the weekend and getting the rest of the decorating finished. Most of it has been done its just the bits and peices left to do now.
Hope you all have a lovely weekend (or a dry one at least)This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -
Sorry, my 'Thanks' button has disappeared again, but thanks anyway to all who have taken the trouble to post so far today.
I've also had to log in again. This happens periodically, is it only me or does it affect everyone?
Commiserations to all who really suffer in the hot weather - especially those who are travelling on Sunday. I hate it too but fortunately this is a fairly large Victorian house with thick walls so stays reasonably cool, and I try not to have to go out during the day.
Starting a good tidy up today as next week is unbelievably frantic and I want to at least start off with things under control.
Had a slight distraction earlier on when a man from the Disabled groups coffee morning came round to say that there was homeless and destitute chap outside the church and could I do something.
They had fed him tea and biscuits so I packed a bag with sandwiches,(yes he liked ham and cheese, and caviare- he hadn't lost his sense of humour), a bag of crisps and a hunk of bread pudding. He asked for milk to drink and I thought of a bottle of milk outside in this heat! Fortunately we had some thermos flasks donated to us so I was able to send him off with a flask of chilled milk. He said he could get water in the public toilets and I instructed him to drink plenty.
He's supposed to be coming back tomorrow morning for a refill.
Sometimes I am reminded of how much I have to be grateful for.:)
Going to use up things in the fridge for meals today so they will be strange and original.:D
If I don't get on here again for a couple of days, have a lovely weekend all, and try to keep cool.

Hi all,
Just had my sandwich, not much left in the fridge but the shopping will have to wait until tomorrow as DS1 isnt here to give me a lift.We are going to our friends for tea tonight, but I've got some fish out for DS2,I won't cook it as I don't know whether he is going training tonight after work yet,he can do it to suit himself.
I have done a bit of OS this morning,a bag of carrots had started getting speckly black bits on,so I have peeled them all and they are fine underneath,so they've been chopped and blanched ready to freeze.
Done the usual housework, but might give the office/craftroom a blitz as it's more craftroom than office at the mo,and DH is complaining he cant find the desk.I've been mulling ideas over for making my C**mas cards so its got a bit messy. Also need to make a baby comforter.I gave one to DS friend last year, her baby has got quite attached to it and she's scared of losing it,or even washing it too much and has asked for another one. They dont take long and I still have plenty stuff so I don't mind.
Hope everyone is ok
PP have a nice break, hope it doesnt get too hot for you travelling.
Halight,that video is amazing:eek:
Molly-I enjoyed the article too.

Afternoon All
Love and hugs to all, Pen-Pin have a lovely holiday. Congrats to those with exam results, those who didn't get what they wanted - things will turn out fine.
Started new job and I don't like it very much! The school is huge and I can't find my way about let alone help anyone else. Still, the staff are nice and friendly and things should get better when I get in the swing of things. I have applied for more jobs and after my disastrous interview earlier in the week, will sell myself if I get any more interviews!
Weather warm but damp so washing on airers. The painter has done the wall inside but not outside as it's too wet. DD out tonight so I will grab something to eat at work.
Just spoken to DS2, he's back from Africa and then spent a few days in Helsinki with his GF. He has to empty his flat today as he is going back to Africa tomorrow morning and his lease runs out while he's away. More stuff to store in the garage!
Hope you all have a good weekend. Take care. XX0 -
Hi Guys!
Thanks for all the positive vibes for the holiday. Everything packed near enough! OH still needs to find/get the small flask, get the picnic basket? (might just take the M&S cool bag), ice blocks x 3, wine, anti-sick tablets, laundry tablets. The food is booked for delivery tomorrow but have most the tinned items in an Ikea bag. Tomorrow, the rubbish needs to go out, take pillow for me, fans, sandwiches made and put in cool bag with the drinks and other travel snacks with the freezer blocks. I have the voucher folder all ready with all cheap and free stud to do locally with vouchers and mobile no of the lady who's meeting us there with the keys. The wheelchair already in the car with all the other bits I need and most importantly my meds are all done with repeats incase anything should happen:D
I think we're nearly there and tomorrow is supposed to be the hottest day of the year. Typical!.....but we aiming to leave by 9, so should be there before too hot.
Tonight we have spagbol courtesy of DD who's made a double portion for the freezer.
If I don't pop back in. Have a lovely few days.

Evening all
I've been mia recently, life's been turned upside down and I'm commuting 250 or so miles a day and have no spare time. The worst part is heading out to Brum at 6am in rain and gales then getting to London where it's baking hot! I've got a jam packed weekend but nothing I really want to do e.g., bottle of wine + best friends!
((hugs)) to everyoneLiving cheap in central London :rotfl:0 -
