Benefits and Diuploma

Hi folks i have been to a college sat a mock exam and have enrolled on a course. The course is a diploma in Law.

I'm entitled to a maintenance Loan and have the course fees paid.

However im claiming JSA and housing benefit, up to what point do i stop claiming JSA, my course starts i think in the 3rd week of September, even though i have been given a letter by the college that i have been accepted on the course and how much the course fees are.

I have split up from my partner since May 2012 and moved into rented accommodation straight away and claimed jsa and housing benefit since then. I have no assets, have no dependents and nobody depending on me. I'm classed as a mature student.
Many thanks for advice:A

Have you been directed here yet?

There are certain times that you can claim benefit, but otherwise, unfortunately, you're not entitled to anything.

You won't be able to claim hb from the date you become a student as you have no dependants. I imagine your jsa will cease on this date too if you are a full time student as you will no longer be actively seeking work
