advice please... what can you do if you book a holiday on line, pay for it with a debit card, get a confirmation email and get told your documents will be with you in 8-10 days... 8-10 days later no docs turn up so you ring the company (Icelolly.com) and they have no information about the holiday you have booked and tell you the confirmation email isnt worth the paper it is written on.. your bank tells you that because you have paid by debit card you are not insured and all you can do is contact the police?

Book with someone else next time.
DIY is best, then you only have the wife and the cat the blame (and kick).
The cat not the wife that is!

If you booked your holiday on a visa debit card you can do a visa debit card charge back. Any bank who issues a visa debit has to abide by the visa debit charge back guidelines. You can get your money back on any goods or services that are not delivered0 -
Icelolly.com is just a portal. They don't actually book holidays. They just host offers from other travel agents and tour opps.
I am assuming the company you booked with have went bust? otherwise they can't just hold your money and not give you the holiday.
Abta, Atol or your bank need to deal with it.About Us

As budget flyer says icelolly is a glorified search engine, which agent was your booking with? And have you spoke to that agent? What did they say?
If they are not playing ball, report it to your bank. Using the words fraudulent transaction will usually get their attention. Also find out if the agent is a member of ABTA, ATOL, TTA etc and get onto them. Also find out where the agent is based and contact Trading standards for that area.0 -

Not really very helpful to the OP in this instance though, is it, when the money either lost or in limbo.I hate football and do wish people wouldn't keep talking about it like it's the most important thing in the world0 -
It is clear you clicked on a link from Ice Lolly, as others have said it doesn't sell anything itself. Look at the 'confirmation' you got, is there a name on it other than ice lolly, does it show an address anywhere and most importantly, what is the name of the company that debited your card?0
