As I've just posted in the other thread, for anyone who missed out on the online offers but who lives close to a John Lewis, try ringing your local shop to see if they've got any in stock. Out of curiosity, I popped into the Cardiff shop this afternoon and they were selling the SD-2500 WXC... again for £59.99.0

Ours gets used several times a week - no question of it going into a cupboard.
Haven't bought supermarket bread in years. This is hugely better, far fresher, and takes very little effort.
It must be close on 25 years since we bought the first one - £199.99. Some things have got a lot cheaper over the years!0 -
I was bought a panasonic breadmaker, on request, for Christmas about 8 years ago. I used it a few times but never liked the bread from it so stuffed it in a cupboard and eventually sold it on eBay. I do still make my own bread although I use a kenwood food processor for the mixing and kneading."A cat can have kittens in the oven, but that don't make them biscuits." - Mary Cooper

How much cheaper is it to make your own bread? Can anyone give me a rough estimate of the size of each loaf, and how much each loaf costs?0
-
size of loaf is 800g - bread flour is 60P for 1.5kg and yeast is 68p for 6 packets - you need 1.5tsps - 1 tsp sugar & 1tsp salt and water - flour is 550gram - does a rapid loaf that takes 1 hour 55 minutes - that's off the top of my head, can't find my recipe book - best thing we've ever bought - had a cheap one first and then bought the Panasonic - awesome - I paid about £80 odd pounds must have been a least 4 or 5 years agoTitch0
