Utility exit fees

I am looking at leaving my existing dual fuel provider, which I have been with for a number of years. My original deal finished and they automatically enrolled me in their new deals. I did not agree to these deals, just kept them rolling. Now I want to leave, they are asking for an exit fee. Is this correct as my original deal finished 3 or 4 years ago?

Before each deal ended they would have advised you what you would be moved onto and which point you could have said no I want to go onto this instead. It sounds like you did not object to the new tariff so you appear to be stuck with the exit fees.

Putting you on to a default tariff would most likely be their standard tariff. Such tariffs do not normally contain exit fees, nor should they.

    Check out the precise details.

What tariff and supplier are you talking about?

SLC7.6 specifically prevents it since a standard falls under a Deemed contract.
