no she is not, oddly enough i had contacted the rspca on monday to ask if i could get her neutered if she isnt mine and they had told me to bring her down and check if she was chipped and if not it would be fine.
the feliway is a great idea, you can pick her up and she is quite tame but just walks away if you stroke her, i guess i will never know where she came from.

You might ask the vet to check if she is PG at present. A pregnant spay can be done if it's early enough and she is well enough.

  • called the vets and they dont think she is pregnant unless very early, when she is better they will neuter her for me, so i just hope shes going to be ok, shes awake and alert but no wee yet, probably because she never uses a litter tray.

    oops,meant to say spay
  • Our year old tom was run over - twisted spine, dislocated hip one side, hip joint sheared off the other and completely smashed pelvis. The vet could not believe that he was walking after seeing the x ray. We confined him to the downstairs shower room for THREE MONTHS!!! He had to stop taking painkillers because he wasn't in enough pain to stop him climbing. He only had one operation to remove the broken hip joint - he had actually climbed out of the twilight window the day before and we found him up a tree. Two days after being released back into the community he caught a squirrel.

cats are so resilient - we have three other cats and two dogs and there was absolutely no harm done by keeping them separate. We just made sure that all of us spent some time with him.

he is now a happy three year old doing his bit to reduce the rabbit population in our nearby quarry

May not be as difficult as you think - when my cat fell out of an upstairs window and broke her pelvis we had to keep her in a dog crate loaned to us by the vets (just left a cheque with them for deposit) - we kept her in the cage in the living room with an enclosed bed and toys and she adapted remarkably well to her situation - we used to carry on talking to her and stroking her gently and she had the usual house noise going on around her - after a month she was out and about as if nothing had happened - so hopefully it will be easier than you think:)
  • chiefpossession and franklally, thankyou so much for your replies,
its a great help to read and know that there is a good chance of recovery.
at the moment she is doing ok,most of the time she is quiet but occasionally cries to come out which is understandable.
we are back to the vets this afternoon for a check up so will update.
regarding the posters i put up a lady has called me and thinks its her cat that went missing over a year ago, i have tried to explain that i dont think this is her cat as this one is barely a year old but she still wants to check which i understand just to put her mind at rest.
again i am so grateful to everyone who posted on here with all the fantastic advice, thankyou to you all

can't help with the cage rest bit, but can give you a bit of hope!

before I adopted my cat she was run over by a car and left for dead.

she had a fractured pelvis, and I assume was on cage rest of some sorts.

2 years later, she is loads better than she was when i adopted her (3 months after the accident). she still walks a bit funny, but can get wherever she needs to go. I keep her indoors, and make sure i leave tables/chairs at angles so she can still jump on things as necessary.

i've also started her on some glucosamine/msm/chondrition and she is getting massages every few months. she's only 3, but i want to do as much as possible to avoid her getting arthritis, as I have a feeling she will be around for a very very long time!!!

also, i still haven't quite figured out how she got up there, but i assume she just jumps, and clings on for dear life with her front paws!!
