Oven - not as hot anymore

I have an electric fan oven, it's an AEG but don't have the model on me for reference.
Issue I'm haivng is that it appears fully functional in that it gets hot, the grill works & the fan works also.

However, bunging it on 180 doesn't get anywhere near as hot as you'd expect OR NEED!

I've only lived in this flat about 7 weeks. The first thing I did was clean this oven as it was nothing short of grim. I thoroughly cleaned it until it was gleaming. I'm wondering if overuse of Mr Muscle may have damaged it?

I'd rather not get the Landlord involved until I have to really especially if it's a matter of checking stuff first at the very least.

Any advice? Greatly received.

    But you do need 180c

If you had said it was fine and then went to how you've described it, it would be a different matter.

Inspite of what I said in the 1st line, what's the issue if you don't need an oven that goes to it's speced heat?

You need to put a suitable thermometer in there or more likely cook something in someone else's oven then follow exactly the same timings in yours. Go from there.;)
I like the thanks button, but ,please, an I agree button.

Will the grammar and spelling police respect I do make grammatical errors, and have carp spelling, no need to remind me.;)

"But you do need 180c" That's my point. Setting to any heat doesnt feel like it reaches that heat. I just used 180 as an example.

For example if you set yours to 180 for 10 mins when you opened it I'd guarantee you'd step back for a sec to allow the heat to escape fear of burning yourself. Mine currently is obvioulsy hot but not as hot as it should be.

No, that was my point, your post wasn't clear, I read it as you didn't need 180 and replied by saying you do but look, I'm trying to help, try doing what I said.

You said not as hot "any more" but you've only been there 7 weeks - are you sure it hasn't always been like this?
An oven thermometer is fairly cheap to pick up and once you've experimented you'll soon remember what actual number to turn it up to when you want to achieve 180/220 etc. if you don't want to bother the landlord. Sometimes old/cheap ovens just aren't completely accurate.

No, that's not what was said, check again.
The whole point is that the OP has nothing to check it against, and it hasn't suddenly deteriorated.

Was your last cooker gas? Electric is slow, very slow in comparison to gas.

My electric oven takes about 20mins to heat up to 180, has it got a indicator light that goes out when the set temp is reached?
