Metropolitan Collection Services (HSBC)

I've just made an full and final settlement offer to them to pay off my debt to them.

Has anyone had any dealings with these people and made successful offers?

Thanks.

they were fine about it, i offered 75% of the debt and they accepted as long as i paid by the end of the day/week

I HATE HSBC with a passion, so could not wait to get rid of them....

Thanks, I know, I hate HSBC too.

I offered them £5990 on a loan with just over £13000 outstanding, at first they refused but when i said that was my only offer they said they would put the offer forward again and it was accepted.

They also freeze interest and agree to very low token payments - I am speaking from experience with them.

I must say though, HSBC / MCS at the time were a pig of a bank to deal with.

If you can't afford to pay a lump sum, ask them to freeze interest and make sensible payments that you can afford.

    Good luck! :)
  • I'm in a similar situation with Metropolitan & these posts have certainly made my ears stand up, never realised you could offer a final settlement figure. Will be watching this post & pls let us know how you get on AngryDog.

You can negotiate final settlement figures and interest free repayment options. The sad thing is for every person armed with that knowledge, there are still ten more being stung by the !!!!!!s :(
  • Hey AngryDog

Did you get anywhere with Met? I'm thinking about trying to negotiate with them.
