Extra MFI Discounts

Thinking about to buying an MFI kitchen. I read a post somewhere suggesting that MFI can give additional discounts if pressed.

Can anyone point me to the post or suggest how I might extract a discount. So far I've only been offered £100 off £3000? (MFI as a search didn't work.)

Thanks

If I was spending 3000 in MFI I'd be looking for more than £100 off, that's not even 5% which is the absolute minimun your should be asking for, I'd ask them if they can do the whole thing for £2500 and take it from there, be prepared to walk out of the shop if you don't get the deal you want, you can always go back

You could try going in to the store on the last day of the month, say you are going to place the order if they can give you a deal, I think they may work to targets.
Certainly when I went to buy a bathroom suite it was the last day of the month and got an upgrade of the suite and taps compared to what was on show in the store and got the delivery charge taken off. It was not much but the suite only cost about £350 and about £200 of that was with clubcard vouchers.
We did get the impression he was trying to meet targets.....

We bought our kitchen and bedroom furniture from MFI about 4 months ago. With the kitchen we got good discounts when we were there with the designer (i think it totalled £3500 and we paid £2500) plus she threw in a A rated Bosch dishwasher for us :T We went back a month later and ordered our bedroom furniture and my husband asked for more discount and we got it. We're really pleased with the quality of the goods too :D

Just tell them what you want and how much you have to spend, if they cant do it say 'well Ikea it is'! If you also casually slip in you will order that day they will jump round hopps. It really is a case of if you ask you get. Think 10% discount minimum. I got this(in a 3 and a 2 seater):

    http://www.mfi.co.uk/mfi/FinalProduct.asp?CT=Sofas&CT=/7020/LoungeandDining/Sofas/Leather&CT=/Sofas/Leather/Sofa%20Ranges&CT=/Pacific&CT=/Brown&CT=*&SKU=PCF1103
    for £899

Also got two double wardrobes and a five set of drawers of a high quality (Minori Wallnut I think its name was) for £600 reduced from £900ish. Ive jsut realised they no longer do this.

If you have tesco vouchers, dont mention them unless asked and use them later on.

Many thanks fro the reponses that I've had. Greatly apprecaited the help because I now know they can offer more if they want to.

Any other advise apprecaited and did anyone else see the post by an MFI employee because I can't find it. I think "MFI" might be too short a search term.

    Thanks again,

    Regards

The salesman mentioned to me that they try to achieve 55% profit margin after all the discounts and freebies, my order is showing 66% gross profit but he still won't offer more than an extra £100 off!

Try s different assistant or a differant store. Luckily I have two fairly close to me though. Try going to them towards the end of a sale, I dont know why but they seem to offer more. I was once told they couldn't budge on any price. This lovely friendly assistant in the Warrington store obviously dodnt want the large amount of commision she was about to earn off me! Even with MFI vouchers they get commision. Sometimes they are jsut stuck up and favour the older customers. As Im only 24 I never get asked if I require any help... yet everyone else around me gets asked! No wonder the company nearly went down the pan when its usually first time buyers who need to buy completely new furniture.
