Tablet

Hi

Would love some tablet advice. My sister wants to buy for xmas my two nephews a tablet because she cant afford an ipad.

I am hoping for some advice I can pass on, also with tablets do you get the apps to download like an ipad, for games etc?

Thank You

The Nexus 7 is one of the best value tablets on the market at the moment. It runs the latest version of Android so there's a great variety of apps to download (free and paid)

Tablets from Ainol seem to be highly regarded by users, once they've stopped sniggering over the name.

If its for Christmas what about the IPAD mini which looks like it is being launched in September (according to all rumours??).

Online articles suggest it will be in the same price bracket as the Nexus 7

Is there a budget involved ?

Basically there are 2 main Oerating systems for tablets, the apple OS and android (which is on alot of tablets from the cheaper tablets to the more expensive ones), just like the iPad there are free and paid for games, apps etc.
  • There is also the new Microsoft tablet.. that might be even cheaper than the Nexus - they're talking about it going on sale for $199 (£127)
  • I'm looking at the Samsung tab2 for £169 ish (£30 cashback) or the Momo8 Speed sold by GTR electronics looks a good buy, but not on sale until the end of the month.
Has anyone any views on the "Ployer Momo" ? As my wife wants me to play safe and buy the Samsung as it would be the same as my S2 phone. But I really like the Momo8 Speed because of the price !

Apologies for the hi-jack of this thread (Threebabes) but I thought it more sensible to ask a similar question rather than starting from scratch. I have a great PC at home but all set up in my 'office' so the OH is suggesting I should get a tablet and join her in the living room to watch Corrie/Emmerdale etc. All I want to do is go on the internet nothing more nothing less. Due to age a 10" screen would be better than a 7" but there ends my specification other than to say they seem to start at £80 on flea bay. Please be gentle ~ I don't normally post on this section of the forum!
