Car Accident claim

Hi
My wife and daughter were involved in a car accident last week, where a young driver came round the corner on the wrong side of the road and hit them head on.
They are both in hospital recovering from operations (and doing well thankfully).
I have informed the insurance company of the accident and they are claiming back the costs for the car but we do not have legal protection on the insurance.
Can anyone please advise me on who to talk to regarding claiming compensation for the personal injuries/finance losses.
