Birmingham airport collection

Hi,
Sorry if this is a really thick question but I have never done it before:o I have to collect from Birmingham airport on Saturday, where do I park? Do they have normal carparks for this? ie say 2 hours parking, rather than short stay which of course in an airport could be a week!
I did look on NCP, and could park outside for an hour for £40

There are normal car parks at Birmingham Airport. The airport website has details.

Thank you, have now gone on to airport. I typed in airport parking to google and got NCP up which shocked me a bit.

  • There is a pick-up/drop-off area at Birmingham Airport. Costs around £1 an hour I think, take a ticket on entry and get it validated before leaving.
Look again at the airport parking BHX.
    Normal people worry me.

If you know what time they are arriving you can collect from the Train station, Birmingham International which is signposted. There is a free 20 minute car park and you can tell who ever you are collecting to take the free monorail over from the Airport.
Thats what I've always done anyway.

They do have normal short stay car parks at the airport as stated, follow the signs as you approach the airport or again as mentioned above you can pay £1 to drive up to the airports drop off/pick up area (Though you cannot wait in this area and will be moved on.)

    from the website...

If you are just picking up, or dropping off someone at the airport, their is a very conveniently placed 'Drop & Go' car park at the very front of the airport terminal building. There is a nominal charge for using this of £1.

It is also possible to get up to 15 minutes free parking at the Long Stay 1 car park.

The airport site has information about meeting & greeting: http://www.birminghamairport.co.uk/car-parking.aspx

The Drop & Go is £1 for 10 minutes, more for dropping off. For picking up they suggest short stay. Prices are listed here: http://www.birminghamairport.co.uk/car-parking/turn-up-parking-prices.aspx

I second PDC. Get them to hop on the free monorail to Birmingham International station. It takes less than 5 minutes. At the station you can usually just sit in your car right outside with no bother.

I was going to say the same thing. You can waste 10 mins just waiting to pay for the drop off car park.

Some how in the space if minutes everyone forgets where they put their ticket or starts going through their pockets and bags for change as if they were not expecting the charge when they sat waiting for people to arrive.

The short-term car park at Birmingham airport is right next to the Ibis hotel and the drop-off point, (so straight across from the terminal building) its £3.50 for one hour, and a couple of minutes walk once you've parked your car.

We would need to park, as its a 2 hour journey and I'd at least want a wee, Had a look and will aim for the short/med stay 1, 2, 3. The problem with the drop off point is getting the time right
