Thursday 16th August what small DFW things will you do today?!

When we start out on the DFW trail we do loads of "big stuff" that makes quite a difference to our situation. These include having our lightbulb moment, cutting up the credit cards and cancelling Sky and the gym.
But once we have done the bigger stuff, we often feel that we are not making the same amount of progress, when in fact the small steps are helping us form good financial habits and helping us get closer everyday to staying in control and becoming debt free, or staying debt free.
Examples could be hanging washing out instead of using the tumble dryer or leaving your purse/wallet at home to avoid the risk of spending.
So be proud of those small steps, they really are important! :money:
Yay:j I started the thread, I get so excited. List up in a mo will pop this up to make sure we don't get two.....:rotfl:
Ok so far so good
Today
Check banks and wait for wages to clear.....this may be a long wait
Walk dogs at home
Do expenses for July and email it
Feed hens and collect eggs
Text or fb chum about moving chooks this week to hers before we move
Write a list and make sure we only take what we need and email movers/ check out hiring a van
Fb brother to plead for help
Store cupboard meals today
Probably not a nsd but should be a LSD only buy what need
Drop dd EMA form at council, speak to them about change of address save call/stamp
Pack more stuff
Declutter more and take to tip/charity shops on way to town
Not sure what else but that will do for now, mainly packng.....have a good un

Morning everyone:) Thanks for starting us off Pippi - good luck with the packing. Where is everyone
My list for today:
Free refreshements and lunch as working in London -also charging laptop and phone on train and using their internet rather than my personal 3G. My stupid work laptop won't connect to the work network so can't do any work on train - what a shame :rotfl:
Meals from stores
pack for DD as she's staying at grandparents this weekend as DH and I are going on a very budget stay in a hostel for BIL 30th. pack for us as well
Moved pay around to various pots and updated my spreadsheet
moved paypal funds to overpay my loan - less than 4 months payments to go :j
Chase ebayer who has not paid
Think that's about all, will be back later to see what everyone else is up to

Morning ladies:)
Thanks pippi for getting the thread going...glad it makes you so cheery:rotfl:
Still sat here in my pjs, I love the hols, how will I manage going back to work in a few weeks?;)
Ok, maybe if I get a list down I'll have some motivation to get going...here we go:
check banking - tax credits in, all duly shuffled about
check onepoll
Hoover through whole house
sort returns for N*xt
persuade dd2she only wants 1 of the 2 t-shirts I bought her so the other can go back for £8 refund:D
sort out student loan deferral form
meal from plan tonight - jacket pots and chicken. Dd1 eating out at lunchtime so she can have something small tonight
towels washed and on the line
Ok, that's my lot. I also need to sort my hair (home dye disatser:o:o) - the fringe is a shade darker than the rest...I keep washing it but it's not fading:o Luckily it's semi permanent, so it'll go, but I'm out on the town on Saturday and would like my hair looking decent:) So I might buy a colour remover, urgh I wish I'd never bothered!
Have a good day everyone:DI really need to sort out a new signature!0 -

Morning guys  thanks for starting us of pippi! Ha I remember many moons ago when I started on this DFW malarky that you & pix were the (fire) starters - going back to our roots!
Tiggy and Pix oh how envious I am of your holiday allowance although, obviously I get the cheaper hols than you do but still 5 weeks a year is a pittance!
Jonno yay to a weekend away! :j
My stuff for the day:
[STRIKE]check banking[/STRIKE]
[STRIKE]rework out what we need to pay each for festival frivolities [/STRIKE]
[STRIKE]shift some money into savings[/STRIKE]
print off p60 to take to mortgage broker meeting at 3
looking at a house this evening (god this house buying stuff is like a roller coaster, elated one minute
and then crushing disappointment
the next )
breakfast & lunch from stores
stick to diet
[STRIKE]print off a couple of vouchers for meal out tonight[/STRIKE]
[STRIKE]check cc statement[/STRIKE]
[STRIKE]work out what oh owes me - petrol/festival/mil's present[/STRIKE]
make the blinking crumble and freeze - we have too much fruit at the moment! All these deserts is making sticking to the diet v hard!
work out what my holiday allowance is left and when I am going to take it :T
take some funds out of savings pots to pay for birthday presents and festival till the cashback becomes available
call a couple of solicitors and ask for quotes
read some more on mortgages
oh yeah and I better do some work as well!

Hello everyone,
I haven't posted on here for a few days - been a bit manic going back to work after having 3 weeks off!
La Escocesa - Congrats on the hubby getting a job - that's wonderful news!
Today...
NSD
Check banks - Done. Should get through the month with about 90p left over at the end
All meals from stores (smartprice veg soup for lunch, yummy!)
Send off job application for weekend work - Done
Do surveys
Remember to bring change with me to pay in the bank tomorrow. I have £1 in 2ps!
I think I'll have to get a small food shop on the credit card next Monday to see us through until pay day. All the food money has gone. I want to wait until Monday as my monthly payment off the cc will have gone through, meaning the debt won't be bigger than it is now! It's been a tough month but after September things should be easier with full-time wages :j
