Based on their forecast gas figure, I predict a cold "snap" from end October til end March , with about 6 ft of snow everywhere in January !!:D

I call Jalexa vs. Edf Energy

Counsel for Edf: "M'Lud, my client asks that you "step on the gas" as they predict your imminent demise."

I guess if the period over which the AQ has been calculated had been historically mild then there might be a case for the projected consumption to exceed the previous 12 month's actual consumption. However I think the person that "imagined" long range weather forecasts is digging a hole for their company. How long does it take us to draft a probing email on that point? How long would it take Edf not to reply?

BTW, my reply to a similar question was similar though a little less "imagined". I have also been assured I would only ever be asked to pay for what I have used. A nice (but nonsense) assurance as anybody on a spring/summer 'annual review' schedule will always be paying slightly ahead of actual consumption. Something I accept subject to the payments being accurately calculated for the year.

I am totally confused by the potential of switching to EDF Blue.

Current for combined Gas and Electricity I pay EDF £111 per month for the two.

Last years bill was £1,475 .

If I switch to EDF Blue they want either £137 per month or £141 per month.

So my dd increases by either £26 per month or £30 per month and this saves me money ?

Currently I am over £500 in credit so why do I need to pay more.

Am I missing a trick here or are the REAL increases in costs to us goiing up by around 23-25% !!!

Just changed tariff to Blue +Price Promise April 2014. Seemless over a Bank Holiday weekend so I assume automated. Monthly payment quoted reduced [and now been notified:T] to reflect modest tariff saving on my "self-certified" actual annual consumption. Hey... almost the same situation I was in over a year ago when I switched to Edf using my own projected consumption (later proven accurate) and which resulted in a year of "nonsense calculations" and strife.

So the jury is out but a positive start. Watch this space.
