    In that case, it may be because the previous occupant had changed to standard from E7 without changing the meter (some meters are allowed to operate this way as long as they still provide readings on both registers) but they should have discussed this with you.

    Its likely that whoever you may have spoken to didn't think about it as its less common and just missed it.

    Usually, changing to standard this way would mean the property has changed e.g. GCH fitted. So, the supplier may think the account should remain that way but its really your call.

    Check your figures into a comparison site and if E7 is best, raise a complaint asking for rebilling to E7 from when you moved in.

    Just remember any heating will be less now so try to do calculations including seasonal variations or discuss your heating on here for advice on kwh per appliance.
