  • oh balls  I haven't had any kind of call etc about this 80p thing but wouldn't be surprised, and no, I'm pretty sure there's nothing you can do about it. Ah well, I only had it 2 months so hadn't racked too much up on it anyway

And pjaj, the cashback is still running till end of March or so according to the letter I got from MBNA, so you'll probably get the letter saying your cashback is ending a day or two after you receive your card :D

As for the 20% off @ Conran in May, I got that letter too, they have a shop in london (maybe more) check out the website - grossly overpriced crap. that letter went straight in the shredder :)

what is a conran shop to get the 5% anyway? i got another letter fopping us off saying we can get on to a discount there too but ive not even ever heard of it. only got card a month ago, so very disappointed as was expecting to get the full 1% cashback. !!!!!!.

The Conran shops are in London I believe, the letter said that you no longer get the 5% in shares if you spend using the Conran card, but if you produce the letter they will give you 20%,nae guid tae mae "north of the border" I feel a song coming on:D

    What a sickener.

I had accumulated 239 shares this year, which means I will be getting £49 less than expected. Swines! :naughty:

Now, where is my Amex application form? :p

Yep, I just checked my MBNA account online and it has shown that they paid 0.8%. Still, I have already got my new Morgan Stanley in the post and I will be cancelling the Conran MBNA as soon as the account is clear.
  • I am in the same boat and just like Teecee90 accumulated over 200 shares. Was suprised to see the payout on the statement of under £200. I was diligent in spending all year only on this card and I am really gutted at being treated like that. Will cancel the card as soon as this month's balance is cleared and certainly am not spending any more on it! Bye-bye MBNA and hello Egg money!

This is so annoying! I aws expecting £252, and "only" got £201.

Does anyone know who made the decision to make it80p per share instead of £1 - Conran or MBNA?

Seems like it was Conman, I mean Conran, who took this decision. I would think that because they were closing it down they sinply wanted to pay out as little money as possible but still very annoying...especially qwhen you just think you were on to a good thing!

  • Yes, I was surprised and disappointed to find that my last Conran Profit Share (ALWAYS £1 per share previously) was reduced by a whopping 20% for the last share distribution. I think it smells - but we can do nothing about it. This reflects on both MBNA and CONran - who are obviously contriving to reduce the payout as their agreement for this Credit Card has ended.

Just to add salt into the wound. Not only did MBNA only pay out 0.8%, they have just taken the full amount by direct debit even though the cashback was credited on 2nd April so I now have a credit balance on my Conran card :(:(:(
