If it's in the small print, just because you haven't read it doesn't put the company at fault. It puts YOU at fault for being lazy.

As you value helpful contributions so much why not tell us what the mutual agreement is - it might help others in a similar situation.

Don't blame others for making reasonable assumptions based on the limited information that you decide to provide.
