Child benefit and full time student - child abroad

Hello

Posted this in the Student forum, but was advised that there were some knowledgeable people in here.

Myself and my wife whilst living outside the EU ( from Jan 2011 to Apr 2012) had our first child in November 2011. Since Apr 2012 we have been living in Spain.

In three weeks I will be returning to the UK to undertake a PGCE. ( I was born and lived in the UK all my life until last January. My wife is also a UK citizen.)

We are not in receipt of child benefit either in Spain or from the UK.

I intend to apply for Child Benefit when I am back in the UK

My wife will remain in Spain with our daughter, living with my parents whilst I get qualified in the UK.

Will I be able to claim for child benefit as a full time student with my wife and child living abroad?

Thank you for any help.
