I have just started shopping at Lidl after cancelling my Ocado deliveries. I cannot believe how much I am saving, it's only been a couple of weeks but worth the effort.
I have done some bits at Tesco too, to compare a few items between Tesco and Lidl.........
Tesco / Lidl
4pt milk £1.18 / 98p
Cucumber 80p / 59p
Gem lettuce £1 / 69p
Red pepper 78p / 69p
The savings soon add up!:T0 -

They closed our store for two days last week to refit it, I went in it today after it reopened and hardly anything has changed. They moved the checkouts a bit and thats it, not sure why they had to close for two days just to do that.
I was hoping for a bakery that lots of people have posted about on here but nothing.0 -
The equiv. mild cheddar in Tesco is £5 something.0

I always buy the recycled toilet paper and as far as I'm concerned, it does what it's there for
quite good though, been buying it for a long time.
I picked up the packs of bacon for £1.89, that's the family sorted out for a month, I do love Lidl. Oh and the beef joints I saw were rather big, was tempted to get one0 -
Might buy the lilies, but other than that nothing suitable for me. Lidl assures me they have an organic range but I've only ever seen fresh milk, carrots, mushrooms and Heirloom tomatoes and they never do organic offers.0

Has anyone tried the margherita pizzas? you can't help but wonder if it's too good to be true when they're that cheap!0

They do take debit cards, but not credit cards. They do have carrier bags, but you have to pay for them so best to take your own.
Also you don't pack as they scan your shopping, you load it back in the trolley then pack it at the packing bench unless you're quick at packing!
My local Lidl takes both credit and debit cards.0
