Transfer money from credit card to bank account

Hi,
I want to transfer a large sum of money (£1,500 ish) from my credit card to my wifes bank account. (both in the UK and in sterling)
I've tried western union and had some success although most of the time I just get errors and it blocks most attempts to transfer any large amount of money - I wont bother with the details, this website and service IMO sucks !
I know there's various other online money transfer websites that may do this but I don't want to spend time and risk registering cards and accounts if they perform as WU does.
This is a one off payment and I don't mind a small fee such as £20 or such like.
SO my question, has anyone done such a transaction and what website was used ?

You could pay your wife with something like Paypal, but expect a charge of about 3.5%.0
