Why can't they live with parents? Live in a mortgage free home? Have a live in job?
The only reason this rent nonsense has happened is to make the maths work. And as I said....you can't live in your investment anyway.
Because to make a like for like comparison you'd then end having to allow for the owner to live with parents and rent to '15 immigrants', '8 students' or whatever and it becomes even more debatable.
Personally I think with hindsight anyone will find it very hard to make a persuasive case that investing in gold wouldn't have been a good idea before prices rocketed.Having a signature removed for mentioning the removal of a previous signature. Blackwhite bellyfeel double plus good...0 -
See the only reason stock markets have gone up is traders have been on holiday over the summer. Strangely with them coming back shares are falling again and Greece/Spain are news headlines yet again.
By the way I cashed in my shares last week. If the FTSE rises well over 5800 in the next few months I would be wrong but I don't think that will happen. 5300 here we come.
Love it !!

And with little prospect of all the indices turning negative, it may be a while before it gets changed again.
Like 2025 or so.....“The great enemy of the truth is very often not the lie – deliberate, contrived, and dishonest – but the myth, persistent, persuasive, and unrealistic.
Belief in myths allows the comfort of opinion without the discomfort of thought.”

The day twit1234 buys, is definitely the day that I will sell everything up.0 -
I don't want to join in slating Brit1234 as she has a lot to give to our discussion I think.
As a point that I hope can be taken on face value, the most valuable investment tool can be the counter indicator. A dial that says negative when it means positive and vice verse.0 -
