Cyprus Debit card transaction

Hi

I am looking for some advice please.

I am getting married in Paphos next month and am required to pay a deposit to the restaurant by the 24th August. I rang them 2 weeks ago and gave them my visa debit number so they could take payment. They emailed me yesterday to say that they had taken payment but when I checked, no money had be taken. I rang the bank who said there wasn't any pending transactions coming off.

I decided to wait until today incase it was delayed but still no sign of the payment being deducted. does anyone have any experience of this, is it normal for there to be a large delay in a transaction and the money being deducted from the account.

I am worried as this will be my reception and do not want it to be cancelled. I have emailed them to ask for confirmation but no reply.

Thanks in Adance.
