Latest WCA/Atos idiocy

I am currently on ESA WRAG.
I got a letter from Atos on Saturday reminding me to send back my questionnaire
Questionnaire? What questionnaire?
I wrote to Atos cc DWP requesting duplicate and reminding them that I am allowed 4 weeks to complete it
Received new questionnaire today, no date but a hand written compliments slip saying "please return immediately"
Immediately? What happened to the 4 weeks that both Atos and DWP web sites say you are allowed?
I emailed Atos complaints requesting they confirm my 4 weeks
3 hours later I got a reply saying sorry, nothing to do with them, if I wanted an extension I should contact DWP.
Extension? I don't want an extension, I only want the time I am allowed
Emailed them again saying they had missed the point (and please don't call me Ms)
I've sent copies of everything to DWP but it will probably take them forever to reply.
Meanwhile I am working on my WCA questionnaire online

Somewhat under a percent of stuff goes missing in the post, according to royal mail figures.
While it's of course possible you have not been mailed the ESA50, it going astray is also quite possible.
As I understand it at this point, you would need to contact the DWP if you cannot make the deadline, and argue 'good cause' for submitting the form late.0 -
Thanks Roger.
This gets stranger. After exchange of emails with Atos (very polite) they said that if the ESA50 goes missing then the new one comes from DWP and not Atos. They didn't understand how I could have heard from them at all. I took a photo of the compliments slip and emailed it to them. Be interesting to see what they say.
I've written to DWP so they know all about it0 -

Hmm. I wonder what the figure is for Atos/ESA related correspondence? Only it seems to be suspiciously higher than average...!0 -

Hence when sending anything to Atos it is always wise to send it recorded delivery as they(Atos) do have a habit of claiming that they never received your form or whatever. Personally my money is on Atos rather than the Royal Mail when it comes to loosing DWP documents as it does seem to happen "quite a lot" when dealing with Atos!!!0 -
I always use recorded delivery when writing to Atos. When I use the Royal Mail Tracker it usually says awaiting delivery even though I know the letter has been delivered. This has happened twice now and it probably means that the letters are being delivered without being signed for.
In a past existence I worked for the Post Office and I understand it was quite common for recorded delivery letters to be included in general mail for large firms as the letters were just delivered in sacks.
Sort of defeats the object of paying extra for recorded.0
