You might want to check what your council is saying about Council Tax Support. Most are saying that all working age people will pay something, and the something is usually 20-30% of the full amount.
You might want to plan this tactically if you know that there will be an unaffordable council tax bill in April 2013. It would be a shame to get debt-free only to acquire a new debt. Once the right to pay in instalments is revoked, the full year's council tax bill can be included in a DRO.0
