I have family there. There isn't much in the town itself but it's easy to get to London and very close to Lakeside shopping centre.
Trains to/from London can be tricky late at night or on Sundays.
I think there's lots of planned development for the area in the next few years.
If you live there you definitely need a car.0 -
thanks and any idea on the above homes developed by bellway0

Would agree with fubar, not much going on in Purfleet. Leisure time would have to be spent in Lakeside or back on the train into London.
The house seems a little expensive for Thurrock. Cheaper can be found in Grays, South Ockendon and sometimes in Chafford Hundred. Again, all rely on the C2C to get you anywhere and the branch for these stations is less frequent than the Upminster - Fenchurch Street direct line. Personally i prefer South Ockendon over Purfleet, in terms of the town itself. An older style house in Ockendon would also be bigger and cheaper.
As fubar has said, you really need a car for all areas in Thurrock.0 -

Bit of a late reply, but are you aware of London Gateway, the new container port opening next year? Its main selling points for shipping companies are the convenient road and rail links to central London, both of which are rather close to Purfleet.0
