Did the clamping release invoice include the place where the vehicle was clamped, the name and signature of the person who unclamped it, their SIA licence number (a 16 digit number on the front of their licence), and the date?
Also, was he/she clearly displaying their SIA Licence?0 -

Think about it. If you are owed money, you have to apply to the small claims court to obtain the right to remove goods to the value if the debtor fails to pay. I don't see what difference there is here... the clampers have deprived the OP the use of his car because of a civil debt.PLEASE NOTEMy advice should be used as guidance only. You should always obtain face to face professional advice before taking any action.0 -
I thought that only a proper, court appointed bailiff could have a car clamped to recover a debt, and then only as a last resort after the debtor has failed to pay up on a court order, fine or CCJI hate football and do wish people wouldn't keep talking about it like it's the most important thing in the world0

The difference is that a court claim is legal, a clamp is not (for this anyway until Oct !st) simples.I'd rather be an Optimist and be proved wrong than a Pessimist and be proved right.0

You need to speak to my mates Mr. A Grinder or Mr. H Acksaw. That's my mutt in the picture above.0

If the parking space is at your place of residence or work, then a permit is not required anyway. Just to make you aware, you can pay-up and then obtain a refund via a joint Small Claims Court action against both the clamping company AND the land owner (or management company). The PPC may not have any assets, but the landowner/manco certainly will have.
Make sure to add-on a fee per letter/phonecall made by yourself in response to the letters you have received + taxi fares incurred due to loss of use of your vehicle. Bargepole is charging the PPC she is doing battle with £90 per letter and has now passed the debt on to a real debt collection company. Read her thread.Never Knowingly Understood.
