There is another issue here that has so far been ignored in the search for answers as to why these reductions are becoming more common:
The 2012 'dry twigs in vases' style was not, imho, given enough market research before being launched. People were comfortable with the 2011 style, but as ever change for the sake of it reigned supreme.
Now, sadly, we are witnessing the price to be paid for this haste :(

    I suspect it was declined.

    Obviously, the vendors are delusional.....:D

That would depend on other offers and if the current owner had eaten this week.

So what your pointing out is that at long last some people are realising that their house is way over priced and wait for it................is only worth what someone else is willing to pay for it.

Even if someone is willing to pay the asking price, the house is really only worth what funds someone can come up with to buy it. As mortgages become harder to get and then later more expensive every year, property will start to fall at a faster rate.
The latest survey data suggests to us that the UK housing market is like a tyre with a slow puncture. You can keep putting air into it for a while, but no matter what you do, eventually it’s going to go down a lot.

This kind of talk solves nothing I tell you!
The sooner we return to lending self-cert part-time hairdressers at least a million, the better; & I hope Sir Hamish would agree with me on this one?
Property being worth only what someone (if you can find them) is prepared to pay for it may suit the rest of the planet, but it is a silly notion & totally unsuited to the British way of life.

Your obsession with Hamish is disturbing.

Oh what a shocking thing to say to Hamish!
How on earth could you think that? The great man has only posted 12,000+ times on here since 2009.
