Benefit payments - changing bank account query.

I am almost positive that I was given an advisory sheet not so long ago that stated how you could change the account details of the account your benefit(s) get paid to but that you could only change once within a specified time...3 months maybe? (So you weren't phoning them up every other month changing accounts.)
Needless to say I can't find the sheet I thought I had and I can't find any info about it online.
Anyone any ideas?
No-one seems to know what I'm talking about but I couldn't just have made it up. :undecided

I can't see how you couldn't have made it up.
It's not a very rational policy, bank accounts can be required to be changed for numbers of reasons, from there being no branch near you after you move, to the bank forcibly closing your account.
I suggest you simply phone them, and try to change the account, or ask if this is the case.0 -
When I changed my bank account I just phone them and gave them the new details over the phone, they then sent a letter confirming they had received the new details and the date they would start making payments into it, I did that twice in the space of a monthnot all on benefits are scroungers and don't need to be bullied!0

I'm very frustrated.

I completely accept I am under a false impression but I'm still certain I read this. I remember it was a small oblong sheet (not A4) with handwriting, it was enclosed with CA stuff.
Oh well, not to worry. I don't need to change again, it was just a query.

Never heard of this before and some people seem to change their bank accounts every few weeks.
But some benefits do have obscure rules so you may well have read it somewhere0
