Student Accounts

I'm currently going into my second year of university and have been with Natwest for my student account in my first year. I've got £1000 overdraft with them but lately I've received such rubbish customer service from them that I'm wanting to leave them. If I was to open another student account with a different bank would I have to pay off the overdraft straight away? and would I get my new overdraft instantly? I also have a student credit card with them currently with around £100 on it which I'm planning on paying off when my loan comes in, would this have to be paid off straight away too if I were to get a new student account? Just trying to work out whether to change now or wait until my loan comes in. Which bank would people recommend? I'm not too bothered about freebies just want good customer service and a decent 0% overdraft.

HSBC were always good to me. Closed that account as I moved house and there was no HSBC close by.
Gone over to the Cooperative now, can't see any drawbacks apart from they need £300 paying in to activate account and overdraft.0 -
I was considering Cooperative but I'll have to wait until my loan goes in to get an account then as I can't afford the £300 yet!fishybusiness wrote: »HSBC were always good to me. Closed that account as I moved house and there was no HSBC close by.
