City2city coach deal used on intermediate stops

I need to get from Milton Keynes to Glasgow by coach and I see it costs (from) £35 - national express. I see that the same coach travels from London via MK and the price is £21.
Can anyone advise if I can get away with buying a London to Glasgow ticket and get on at MK?
I don't want to board and find they won't let me on.
Your advice is appreciated.

I'm not sure about National Express, but I asked a similar question of Megabus recently - they said that I had to get on the bus at the stop that my ticket specified it was from (so London in your case), but that I could get off at any stop. So it would work coming back, but not going. Although I guess it would depend on the driver on the day maybe?

Why not give National Express a call or email and ask them what the policy is?

Good idea, I resisted the temptation to do this as I didn't want to tip them off on a loophole, but I guess they probably monitor forums such as this anyway.
  • I asked National express, this was their response:

You can attempt to board your coach at a later stop, atyour own risk. Your seat will only be guaranteed between the two stops you arebooking.
