Waiting time to switch to Capital One Progress

Hello,
I currently have a Capital One Secured Card that I received in January. I've been paying the card off in full every month and there has never been interest charged to my account or other fees. I'm wondering when it would be most appropriate to apply for an upgrade to the Progress card?
On Capital One's website it says that you must have had a Capital One card for 6 months, but I was thinking it would be better to wait a year of owning my secured card. Is there any chance they will accept me for the Progress card or should I continue with my current plan and apply in January 2013 for it?
Thanks,

I'd apply now if I were you. Even if you are rejected you can just continue on as you have been and reapply early next year. What's the wait time between capital one applications? Is it six months?0

I just applied for an Aqua Rewards Card (I was accepted) and I'm worried about having another search show up on my credit file as I will hopefully also be applying for a student bank account soon. At the moment for the last 6 months only the Aqua card search shows, as Capital One is now older then 6 months.0 -
I'm aware I could get a credit card from the bank I get my student account from but I'm planning on opening an account with the Co-Op who don't offer a student credit card (largest 0% overdraft). Would it be a good idea to apply for the Capital One Progress and then go for the Co-Op student account or will that place too many searches on my credit file as I already have the aqua search?0
