very.co.uk charged £12.00 for arrears of £5.00

hi first time i have ever shopped with very.co.uk, genuine mistake, i guess i assumed i had input my credit card details at the time of ordering and thats was it, i had the goods in june and today come home from work to find there is a collection agencies letter for £12.00 as my account is in arrears of £5.00. the total goods bought were £17.95. Now ive just sent them a note to say yes my fault i havent paid but i havent had one letter or email to chase for payment beforehand and now this. I ve looked online at the statements one from 21.6 showing £17.95 then 21.7 shows £18.57 as they have added 62pence on for late payment /admin etc.
Ive just literally paid online the £18.57 do you think i will get anywhere applealing to there good nature and is there such a thing that the company has to prove they chased for payment.

'Very' don't have a good nature. They are a nightmare to deal with and ignore all forms of communication UNLESS YOU OWE THEM money.

hi dave, wow didnt expect anyone from very.co.uk to be on here. OK yes i will email that address with some details, as I say i paid the amount straight away last night and added the initial 62pence for admin charges to it aswell. Just this threatning letter i have on my desk at work in red advising that they have added £12.00 to the balance thats worrying me.
