Letter before action. Sending long rambling letters is pointless.

Edit: their response is completely unreasonable and unprofessional. Name and shame this bunch of cowboys as soon as this debacle is over.

How does him working on your project in his spare time make any difference to the amount of money his business makes? Also, it is not your problem and dragging pointless things into it like that is so unprofessional. I'd just go straight for the LBA giving them 2 weeks to complete and then get on with submitting the claim online.

I've politely asked him for an indication on time scale once more.

Google it, you'll find a template.

Just outline what you want and by when - keep it short and to the point.

Head it up: Letter before action so they are well aware you are being serious.

He has now come back to me with photos of some repainted models and a very reasonable time scale.

Not sure what's going on, but now that the work is getting done in a sensible time to my satisfaction, so I'm not going to complain.
