Currys: 'Take faulty product direct to Panasonic'
Comments

They will repair, not replace.
They do not offer a one year guarantee. Panasonic do.
I was just saying that they are within their rights to ask for the report. They will most probably just arrange the warranty repair with Panasonic on the OP's behalf.
I said they will repair or replace, it's not unknown for them to replace goods although it will probably be repaired.
I am fully aware that the guarantee is offerd by Panasonic, but the OP's contract is with Curry's.
They will only ask for a report if the OP starts going down the SOGA route, so it's best not to mention it.
I personally would be happy to go direct to the manager when they come to your home or pick the goods up. I certainly wouldn't if they require posting, it's just too much hassle.0 -
Thank you all for taking the time to give me advice.
I'm glad to say that I managed to get hold of Panasonic on the number advised above, and they have referred me to a local repair centre. Fingers crossed...
