Marks & Spencer Gift Cards

Hi I wonder whether you can help me please. My son & new wife had some Marks & Spencer gift cards recently as wedding gifts and as their cooker has just blown up they decided that they would buy one from M & S using the gift cards in part payment.
Marks & Spencer are refusing to accept the gift cards as part payment for the cooker they want as they say that the web site, that carries their name, is not really Marks & Spencer. They have also said that the terms & conditions shown on line for the gift cards do state that they can not be used to buy large electrical items such as cookers.
I have spoken to the Customer Services and suggested that they could cancel the gift card and refund the money on to one of my cards, I would then use the same card to purchase the cooker for my son and daughter in law but they have refused. They say it is against their Terms and Conditions.
Can I do anything to help my son & daughter in law get the cooker they want from Marks and Spencer using the gift card?

Not if they do not want to play ball.
You could buy the gift card off them to spend on other stuff....Thinking critically since 1996....0 -
M&S giftcards/vouchers can't be used for online purchases and they aren't refundable. It's a pain but it is clear in their Ts and Cs so there isn't really anything to be done about it.
You may be able to sell the vouchers on at a decent return?Common sense?...There's nothing common about sense!0 -

That's just wrong.
M&S giftcards CAN be used online.
M&S Terms and Conditions- Marks & Spencer reserves the right to cancel the card if, in our sole discretion, we deem such action necessary.
- Gift cards cannot be exchanged for cash or used to pay for M&S Money services, products or outstanding card balances, made to measure shirts, domestic appliances, personalised cards or M&S Energy.
- Gift Cards cannot be returned or refunded, except in accordance with your legal rights, for example in the event they are not of satisfactory quality.

I stand corrected - I have vouchers which can only be used in store and thought it was the same for the gift cards.
In any case, the terms say gift cards can't be used to pay for domestic appliances so I don't hold out much hope of OP being able to use them to buy a cooker.Common sense?...There's nothing common about sense!0 -
My son & new wife had some Marks & Spencer gift cards recently as wedding gifts, they have been living together for sometime so have pretty much everything else they need, and as their cooker has just blown up they decided that they would buy one from M & S using the gift cards in part payment.

Vouchers and gift cards fetch a suprising good price on Ebay, have a look it might be worthwhile selling them and then buying the cooker.Slimming World at target0

Well either sell them or find out when the expiry date is and use them up before then or use them on food from the M&S store.0 -
