Cheapest way to boil water
Comments
-
Just checking this subject because my electric kettle broke on Christmas Day - luckily I keep a very old kettle that I brought out of retirement to use on the hob & it was surprisingly quick to boil. Now deciding what replacement to buy! Thanks for the advice - one tip I can give on how to save on disinfectant is when I've just boiled a kettle of water I usually pour any excess down the sink - it seems to keep it clean & free of blockages.0

I don't know what is cheaper but I do know what is faster and more convenient, an electric kettle.
Fill and forget, whereas a pot on a gas cooker takes ages and produces steam and condensation and you have to watch it.
Also if there is not a lip on the pot you have to pour boiling water into a jug then into the cup to avoid getting boiling water all over the place.
After having no electricity for most of a day that's what I had to do.0
