Was there a dual signed inventory at the start of the tenancy?

We are assuming you live in England or Wales by the way. Scotland is different.

Yes there was an inventory, quite detailed - why do you ask?
I do live in England :)

I am confused! How does building a porch, I assume outside the front door, cause problems to the tenant going from bedroom to shower?!! OK there might be builders the other side of a glass front door, and a bit of dust, but how does this amount to such distress that they have to leave the property whilst the work is going on?!!!!

What LL would build a porch that meant no furniture could be removed from a property?!! Also the LL apologised and offered to compensate for the inconvenience of building a porch, which I assume was meant to enhance and make the property warmer and safer from having just a front door on entry to the property. It all seems very trivial, unless not explained well.
