Which should I update

I use a dongle and would like to know which ones of these I should update (is it dangerous if you don't keep your computer updated and will it use up my dongle if I update uneccessarily.
Here's a list I wondereed what I should and shouldn't update if I don't use them is it best to uninstall them
Apache open office-use for CVS and stuff
CCleaner -don't use much-should I?
File hippo
Itunes-don't use at all really
java-don't know do I need it
Winzip-used once when I bought ebooks for kindle
Adobe air -don't know what it does
Flash player-in the dark about this -do I need this
Malware bytes-use occassionally
Picasa-use sometimes not much
safari shockwave player-no idea what it is
quick time player
Any advice would be appreciated computers fine and I'd like it to stay that way thanks

good idea to keep malwarebytes updated. run at least once a month
CCleaner i only use once every 2 months.
Java is used by firefox, Openoffice, libreoffice, other programs
winzip could be removed and replaced with a freeware 7-zip / Izarc or Tugzip or ZipGenius.
Shockwave player is for web games
Quick time player for QT movies.
7-zip is really or you need. can unzip,unrar the 2 mostly used formats besides 7z

I'd leave open office installed for the times when you need to write a letter, CV, etc,
Filehippo shouldnt use that much bandwidth can be disabled from running at startup.
Flash Player is used by lots of websites, for flash ads, games, and more.
