Postal increases

I must have had my head buried in the sand because I didn't know postal charges were increasing next week until my local PO lady gave me a leaflet.

I'd be grateful that you got a leaflet!
I downloaded the prices of the website a few weeks ago, but I like the leaflet, it's thick and chunky and doesn't get lost amongst other papers, but could I get one?
I asked again today, the assistant looked behind me to see if any other customer was looking and then slid it out with my receipt and said 'shhh, we aren't supposed to give them out yet!'0 -
Well because of the mis -management of how the post office has been run, and the power of the unions - consumers have to pay for the pension shortfall, so employees can retire at sixty.
Unlike in the private sector where the employees are told to get lost.0 -
what increase? didn't we just have one with the new size and weight thing?0

Well I think it is time to totally open up the postal service - the Dutch postal service is very good and reported to be the best in the world - maybe then will out post service get of its back and be competitive.0

I think the postal costs to send from this country are a bargain!
I sent a letter last week to someone living in Majuro on the Marshall Islands (middle of the Pacific Ocean) and it cost me 50p! I sent it in Monday's post and it arrived there on Friday morning! There's just no grumbling to be done at that.

Eek! Well there hasn't been much made of it - not that i've seen anyway. Do you know which day this happens?0 -
1st April.
So I'm not the only one who will have a shortfall in my p&p charges because I didn't know about the increases!0 -
same here - how annoying!0

the rises aren't too bad, my normal packet rate of £1.70 is going up to £1.84.
standard parcel prices aren't rising at all from what I have seen.
they still haven't removed the disparity between 1kg - 2 kg from special delivery though, why no 1.5 kg?????"There is a light that never goes out"0
