iphone 4 not allowing 2nd calendar alert

How do i fix this.I understand it has something to do with synching...
But i dont even understand that..help..:D
My previous iphone did have this,and I understand..?.. the exchange..?.. may have been set up differently,but this iphone only shows one calendar alert which only allows a reminder up to 2 days before,as opposed to,say 2 weeks before for example..
