Tuesday 14th August- What Small DFW Things Will you be Doing Today?

When we start out on the DFW trail we do loads of "big stuff" that makes quite a difference to our situation. These include having our lightbulb moment, cutting up the credit cards and cancelling Sky and the gym.
But once we have done the bigger stuff, we often feel that we are not making the same amount of progress, when in fact the small steps are helping us form good financial habits and helping us get closer everyday to staying in control and becoming debt free, or staying debt free.
Examples could be hanging washing out instead of using the tumble dryer or leaving your purse/wallet at home to avoid the risk of spending.
So be proud of those small steps, they really are Important.
First time starting! :-0
Today:
- breakfast and lunch from home
- work 8 hours
- park for free
- dinner with the bf
- stay in and save money!
Have a great day!!

Morning campers!! Had our renewal notice from WTC yesterday. We have been overpaid by £59, which is no big deal I can afford that but the idiots have gone on to say they have paid an extra £49 into my bank so not to create hardship so now we have been overpaid by £108. How daft is that??? Still, it's done now so I can't ask them not to do it
My lists for today-
So far:- had breakfast from stores - porridge with banana and cinnamon
- fed and watered the chickens
- made packed lunch for work
- got lift with colleague in exchange for eggs
- drink free coffee and water at work
- keep an eye on surveys throughout the day
- stay in at lunch-time to avoid the shops
- lift home with colleague
- dinner from stores - LO roast gammon and salad I think
- stitching possibly - I'm usually too tired once I get home from work

- quick shower saving on the electricity and water bills

Hello there :hello:
Just thought I'd let you know that I've been thinking about us today and how great this thread is. I've been reading 'Five major pieces to the life puzzle' (got a free pdf copy by googling it ) and there is so much in it that reminds me how great the small things are... "Any day we choose we can walk away from wherever we are regardless of circumstances…we can begin the process of amending our activity to such a degree that today can become the starting point of a whole new life…We do it by working every day on the little things that will make a major difference in how our lives turn out…"
So, with my renewed motivation, I have/will be:
- walked to work and used the £1.40 to buy a pretzel for brekkie and pitta bread for lunch
- free cuppa in work
- spoke to OH about building the internal part of what will one day be our fitted wardrobes… Basically buying a rail and fittings (£15ish) and attaching it between two shelving units we already have. Doesn't really matter what it will look like because we'll one day we'll put sliding doors across the whole thing
- taking library books back on time to avoid any unnecessary fines
- decided to take mystery shopping purchase back for refund - they're not a perfect fit so not worth keeping
- cancelled a yearly subscription that I forgot to do last year - glad I remembered as was due to be charged to my card tomorrow!
- need to buy BIL's bday pressie (£25 paid for with mystery shopping) and cheapo card
- exchanging Mr T's vouchers for cinema vouchers
Tiggy - thanks for starting us off
Big waves to everyone else :hello: :hello: :hello:
