  • I didn't think I could give up my hair dressers and highlights, but have bitten the bullet this week and had DH to colour my hair - as per another thread, I'm looking like morticia adams but have saved a fortune. I am actually starting to get used to it now, so it's all good.

I can't give up my mobile phone (only ten pounds a month so not too bad), my gym membership (twenty nine pounds a month, trying to get a morticia-like bod to match my 'do) and mullerlight yoghurt :D

    Great thread :T

I couldn't give up my contact lenses. Partly because glasses give me an oil slick for a face and I end up full of spots, but mostly because I'm used to being able to see where I'm going in the rain now :o

I also couldn't give up going to the dentist. Sore teeth aren't fun (or pretty).

    Wow, great thread:T
I've given up alot during the last few weeks due to CAFCgirl's giving up money for lent Challenge (she is now our Unnecessary Queen) but I could never do without good loo roll - decent coffee - professional hair colour and decent meat!!
Holidays come very close to being essential too!!

I'd rather do without meat & coffee rather than buy cheap!!
Also our wine is quite important to us so we con ourselves into saving money by having a trip to France now & again. saying that, on our last trip cases of Merlot worked out at £8 then I got 50% off by using the loyalty card:j (that tested my 'o' level french I must say.
I love nice (not necessarily designer) cosmetics and toiletries but my current personal challenge is to use up all the products in the house before buying new! (only 9 1/2 shower gels to go!)
