:money: I know the ethos of mse is money saving but I was pondering on what people just won't or can't give up.
For me its good bread and good toilet roll, I've bought value bread in the past and personally can't bare it, my fave is Warburtons all-in-one and multi-seeded wholemeal (warburtons or stores own) and also can't bare value loo rolls it seems to be such a false economy and my family end up using three times as much, so just not cost effective, find Andrex or stores own brands the best! I will make cuts in other areas to accomodate my preference, for instance economy baked beans and yes even the hated economy sausages!! Anyone else want to admit what they just can't give up!!

I wont buy value meat, I buy quality meat and bulk it out with vegetables.
I wont give up my VW camper - now that is a serious drain on finances but it is part of the family and makes me smile every day!

Heinz tomato sauce and salad cream - no other brand will do0

I can't give up organic bread - I'm allergic to one of the chemicals they use in processed bread, so the stomach pains aren't worth the saving!
I've cut my takeaway coffee habit down to one a week, but I can't give it up completely!
Oh, and books - I now buy them secondhand from charity shops, and use the library much more, but I still can't resist them!0 -
Good quality meat, same as saffronflowers - I would rather eat meat less often & have a good quality, ethically reared and tasy bit of meat than something mass-produced and tasteless!
Oh, and beer :beer:Total Debt 13th Sept 2006 (exc student loan): £6240.06

Heinz Salad Cream is the ONLY way to go.
(From a girl who several years ago, burst into tears in Sainsburys when the assistant told me the salad cream had been discontinued........ Luckily - it was just a "re-brand")
And our people carrier. Having what feels like tens of thousands of kids (5 in total!), it is a neccessity although its not used very often.0 -
oooh and books, I'm addicted to reading! I try and buy more secondhand books now

Nice bread for me, either rolls or Warburtons seeded.
Hovis & Kingsmill both make me vomit. Cheap bread doesn't, but it feels a bit glue like in my tummy.0 -
