Party Wall Agreement
Hi, i have got a slightly different party wall problem, can anyone help with any info, my neighbours (council tenants) have just been given planning permission for an extension, but this means demolishing their concrete sheds/outbuildings with a reinforced concrete roof which are joined to my outbuildings across the boundary line (all walls are single skin brick) The shed roof even butts into my main house wall, i objected to the extension and dont want them touching my property, how do i stand, can they force me and if so can i get compensation if they do (my property is owned by me)

i would speak to the council, i can't quite see how if they are council tenants they have been given permission surely it's the council that would do the extension & therefore they would be liable for any damage or repairs, i would find out if the planners know that they are only tenants & not owners, you may find it's a case of the right hand not knowing what the left hand is doing.I'm only here while I wait for Corrie to start.
You get no BS from me & if I think you are wrong I WILL tell you.0 -
Anyone can apply for planning permission on anyone elses land, but if they don't own the property they have to tell the owner. Check the application and see if the property owner was informed (which could be a housing association, arms length management company and not the Council). If they weren't the application may not be valid. The Council will advise.0

Were they thinking of basically cutting through the concrete roof where it joins their land?0

Hi and thanks for your answers, in response yes its the council who are doing the extension for my neighbours, they havnt contacted me about this yet but when i objected to the plans i made it quite clear that i didnt want this extension and that my property is privately owned by me and i would not be giving them permission to access my land etc.resting-raver wrote: »Party Wall Agreement

Yeah that also worries me that they might just cut the joining roof with an angle grinder, but im not sure if they could do that as it seems a cowboy way of doing things and plus it would expose the rebar (but knowing my council, nothing would surprise me) to make things worse these are neighbours from hell who i have been fighting with for (i kid you not 10+ years) as everyone else in our street is scared of them. Im just about to put my house up for sale (this weds) so i would consider compensation
I have not been sent a Party Wall Agreement yet, but want to be prepared when they do, thanks Rob0 -
Hi, I have a similar sounding outhouse with concrete roof and you're right, if it's anything like mine they would have to cut through the concrete roof along the boundary.
Is it a single or double-storey extension they are planning?Solar install June 2022, Bath

Hi, its a single storey extension, but the roof extends upwards at forty five degrees back towards their house. So the extension roof is nearly as high as the bottom of my house roof where the extension starts sloping downwards as the extension extends if that makes sense.
The actual extension is probably not in the Party Wall Area, but from the plans their outbuildings will need removing which are0
