Look at Leclerc supermarket. Not sure about PAYG but they are cheapest for contracts. See:http://www.leclercmobile.fr/prepaye-reglo-mobile/formules-options/options-sms-internet.aspx0

If you do find an answer, post it up because I would be interested.
The only time I visit MacDonalds is in France. Just to make use of the free wifi.0 -
If your phone is unlocked, then get yourself an 02 PAYG SIM.
When in France and you're on O2 Travel
It costs just £1.99 for a day's worth of data
(up to 25MB).
Pay & Go customers will be charged 28p per
minute to make calls and 7p per minute to
receive calls
Text messages cost 8p per message
(It's always free to receive texts)

Sounds good, NiftyDigits.
Is that a British O2 deal, or something I buy in France?
I've got an old PAYG O2 sim. I wonder if that will work in my wife's phone.
What is "O2 Travel"?0 -

It's a UK thing and should be automatically applied, though you can opt out.

The only problem is with restrictions on the power of wi-fi in much of France you'll have to go inside rather than just sit outside in the car park. :eek:0 -

Decided that without knowing what sort of coverage we'd get we wouldn't pay out for anything until we got there.
As it happens we had good coverage, pretty much in the middle of nowhere, so my wife paid the £5 a day for Three.
I used the PAYG option and paid out a couple of quid over the whole 12 days - covered a few Facebook updates, checking the football scores and the odd bit of googling.0
