  • Well payday this Friday..then we will be down to 7 pays until Xmas! Doesn't sound a lot, 14 weeks really. On Friday savings should be up to around £3,200! Not bad for first month. Leaves £6,800 over 4 months...£1,700 a month. Should at least smash the £5k barrier by the end of September. I have 2 decent jobs lined up that should be done by end sept and net wages for the 2 should be around £2,500....a massive boost for this challenge and could help me achieve my goal by November. Hopefully bringing my £20k goal forward to April 2013!! Bring it on.

  • Well almost as if i am speaking to myself on here...haha! Payday is is under an hour and a half...total will shoot up from current £2k to over £3k! One thing i dont intend to ever see is that total fall. Even though van needs a few things shortly (tyres is one of a few) i hope i can use my extra income for that to maintain at least £1500 a month from now till the end of year and hit the £10k by year end im aiming for.

  • Just popped to say hi and am subscribed!
  • Just wondered what you need the 10k for? I assume its for a house deposit?
  • Yep, house deposit. Half and half with gf so i am aiming to have £20k then go for it.

£10k by xmas will mean if i keep going at the same saving rate i could well be at £20k in April. Obviously i am trying to bring this forward if possible.

Work is heaving just now, after 2 straight weekends off i am back to the usual long hours tomorrow for as long as i can handle them...

So looks like an "easy" 7-7 shift tomorrow, ease me back into it.

  • Sticking at it and keeping going...paid out a few hundred quid recently on materials for jobs(will see that back in next few weeks+my labour on top) and stuff for gfs birthday....wont see that back haha. Keep her sweet though!!

After a recent boozy night out and the next day a complete write off....im calming that right down. Will be out on a budget on a once its gone its gone basis. Spent about £120  just on drink. Regretted it as soon as i woke up the next day. Was feeling sorry for myself the whole day...managed to get some paperwork done though! So not a total waste. Payday this Friday and Saturday...cant complain!

How are you doing Hun? How's the saving going?
  • Savings taken a huge knock. Work expenses and sorting equipment out. Will be playing catch up next month or two!! Even if i dont hit that £10k by xmas il still be very close. Spent £1,700 out that fund, massive step backwards. One step back, 2 steps forward though, i will still get there :)

So im at £1,550 with £1,000 net payment due next week and £1,500 net payment this Friday....only expenses left are £40 phone bill and thats my lot till fuel next month.

Hows things with you, when do you think you will hit £5k?

I think £5k by end October is still realistic.

Thats great we all have set backs. I think I will get there but it will take me a while OH has to get a job so then I can save a lot more. Once he gets a job I'll be able to save £400 a month if not more.

Keep going, keep your chin up and it will happen :p
