Multi car v 2 single car ins

Both of our car ins run out in Sept, have people found Multi car ins cheaper? I did check one and it seemed expensive.
I do hate the hassle of shopping around but I do it, just wondered what other people have found.

Varies. IMHO better to keep separate and to shop around at renewal. The comments I post are personal opinion. Always refer to official information sources before relying on internet forums. If you have a problem with any organisation, enter into their official complaints process at the earliest opportunity, as sometimes complaints have to be started within a certain time frame.0

Some do and some don't.

The multicar policy discount (often) can be beaten by taking out separate policies and getting cashback on both of them.

It really varies to be honest. Insurance is one of those funny things that is different for everyone. That's why there's no one insurance company that is the cheapest.
Best bet is to shop around online trying multi-car policies and single ones. Also once you have a cheap quote try haggling with your existing insurer.0 -
Got a multi car quote from the insurer of the kids' car (the one with the enormous insurance bill), turned out to be more expensive than insuring all 3 cars separately. They offered to price match themselves, but that would have meant:
1. all renewals being on the same date forever more
2. if they price matched now, there would be nothing to bench match next years renewal to
3. they would never offer the individual car cheaper than its component of the price match.I'm a Forum Ambassador on the housing, mortgages & student money saving boards. I would stay well clear. We had 2 cars on 1 policy and now had massive problems with it, as all the paperwork always came in my hubby's name, even after he moved away from them and then they refused to give me my no claims!!
Even though I own my car, I am the main driver and his car was then with someone else!!
New insurance company wanted proof of no claims, so we rung them to send the paperwork now in my name and they refused..
We had nothing but trouble with it.. Will never do it again!!0
