  • I have just got one from my sainsburys in preston. So the offer must still be on. They had 2 more left as well. I have been looking at this camera for a bit on Amazon and well chuffed i have got it for £150.

Im currently studying media production at the uni and we use the big canon xl2 cameras which are obviously 2000 pound jobbies. But my lecturer recomended this camera for every day stuff and even for cut aways in some of my films as long as i tripod it and dont over use it. So cant be bad if he is recommending it. He doesnt recommend just anything.
  • Ohh yeah. I got a Nectar card at the same time as well so cant complain

Can anyone recommend a decent value software package (or other method) to get the camcorder footage from the pc (i have just learnt how to transfer via firewire) onto a cd/DVD that can be played in a regular DVD player (i have a dvd burner but it can with no software).

Got some lovely footage that I want to send abroad to family. Cheers

HI, what is firewire and how do u do this?...

I'll be going to Sainsburys tomorrow,,hope the offer's still on:rotfl:

Firewire is high speed connection that is similar to USB2, but more suitable for downloading from such items as camcorders etc.

Most decent computers have a Firewire Port/s, mine has two at the front, and 2 at the rear.

    Hope this helps.

    Hi jojo1978

I have contacted the castle marina branch and they may have some. I am waiting for them to ring me back to confirm.

I guess they think the promotion is still running.

    I'll let you know.

    Hi

Visited Castle Marina branch in Nottingham this morning and got one for myself.

JoJo1978: The branch had 3 left and I said that a friend by the name JoJo may call and reserve one. You need to speak to the lass on the Home Care desk and here's the Tel: 0115 948 4595.

    Good Luck.

Great find and it's better than the sharp I had that lasted just over a year. Never buy sharp again. It came up with the DEW error and that was the end of it. I only used it a few times so I feel bitter about there products.

Anyway, good hunting to you all.
